South Korea

Korea is a peninsula off the coast of Asia, west of Japan. Korea is divided into two countries, North Korea and South Korea. North Korea is a communist country. THe two countries are separated by the 38 degree parallel(DMZ)  in the Korean War. They are still separated today. We are only going to be talking about South Korea today.  South Korea's capital is Seoul which has a population of over 10.3 million people. The population of South Korea is 48,379,392 people. Seoul is famous because it was one of the many places where the Winter Olympics were held. Seoul also is home to the Soccer World Cup Stadium. South Korea has generation over generations back of history. South Korea is a fantastic place to spend the summer holiday because it is warm and sunny. Also, for the winter holidays, if you like a white Christmas and freezing temperatures, South Korea is a perfect place for skiing and other winter sports and activities. One fun activity is the Korean Folk Village. The Korean Folk Village is a fabulous museum where you can learn about the different classes of people and their daily ways. Korean currency is called Wan. South Korea's president is President Lee Myung- Bak.
I hope you learned a lot about South Korea. Please feel free to leave comments and don't forget to vote for the next country that you want to learn about.
